3 Blogging Mistakes

Hey everyone, welcome back to another blog post. For today’s blog post I thought I wanted to talk about my three major blogging mistakes I’ve made. I’ve made a past blog post on things I wish I knew before blogging so I thought this would be a great next post. If you haven’t yet got to read that post you can find that HERE. Now the three things I’ll be listing are things I didn’t know about or understood when starting a blog. I just want to state these may be different towards you or other bloggers. Everyone creates their own mistakes and it’s just part of the journey of blogging. We all have to create mistakes to get better and improve. I am still making mistakes even now.

1. Proofreading

Yes, proofreading. I know you all or some are maybe like “how?” Everyone knows after writing you proofread your work. Well I hate proofreading and correcting and all that Jazz to be honest. And I honestly was never good at English in school and I suck at writing sometimes. I’ve always struggled with this at school and even as a soon to be 27 year old. That is what somewhat held me back from starting a blog in some ways but I decided to overcome that feeling and go for it. Thanks to my wonderful husband also when he is available he will go over my post for me and correct anything that needs to be corrected. But even tho I suck at it I realized as a blogger I need to make sure things are corrected regardless if I hate it. This will affect views and follows and I got to stay professional with my work.

2. SEO

Search engine optimization, this is something I totally didn’t know or understood about when I just started blogging. I would see a lot of bloggers talking about this and a lot of blog posts on this. Of course I did my research and read as much as I could about this and slowly started to grasp what search engine optimization was. Now with the help of plug-ins I make search all or least most of my blogs are SEO. Now whenever I don’t get blog posts up or it’s not a day i post I still get good amounts of searches on google. I am still always trying to make sure to improve my SEO writing.

3. Word Count

My third and last blogging mistake is word count. At the beginning of my blogging even still sometimes now I noice when I make some blog posts some are pretty short. I don’t know if I only do this but at the end I hate it. One of the things I wanted to try and do differently was make longer blog posts. For one it can increase more of my traffic and following and actually make people want to read my content. I didn’t want to be known for the blogger who make short postings. So I have made a change and increase my word count on my content and I have noticed a difference throughout the months. What I have done to help me was I would chose topics I can really elaborate on. It was the best way to change the way I write and it has worked so far.

Thanks for reading, I hope any of mistakes can help any of you that may be starting a blog or want to even start one. Remember we are all learning and it’s okay to make mistakes here and there throughout our blogging journey. Please remember to like, comment and follow if you haven’t yet! I always love to hear from you all. Comment any blog mistakes you may of had or found bit of a struggle? May even help me lol See you all in my next post !

3 Major things I wish I knew before starting a blog

Hey everyone, welcome back. First things first I was suppose to have a blog up Monday morning. But due to me throwing my youngest daughter her first birthday Sunday night I literally got thrown off schedule. I was so busy Sunday night I didn’t even get to start half of my post. I was deciding if I should put up Monday post for Tuesday and keep Wednesday post the same. But that would be too close of a catch up for me so I am now posting Monday’s post today Wednesday. For today’s post I wanted to talk about the three major things I wish I knew before starting a blog. Now this is going to be my raw thoughts based on my experiences.

1. Time

Initially I started blogging when I only had my oldest. At the time I started she was about four years old started school. I decided to quit my job and was fed up in my field of work and that’s when I decided to start my dream and start a blog. Now since in the days I had a lot of time of my hands I had time to meet my deadlines and post whenever I planned on posting. Now obviously things and life has changed but before starting a blog I never knew the amount of time in and time loss I’d have. Now that I am a mom of two I have loss time on post schedules and sacrifice uploads for sleep. I never knew the difficulties of blogging while being a mom and wife.

2. Traffic

Another major difficulty’s many bloggers have is gaining traffic. Being a blogger I have realized time and traffic go hand in hand. If you want more traffic and interaction you always need to put time in. This has been the hardest for me especially when I don’t get to make out time a specific day because that week or day can just be busy for me. Usually kids never really want to go by your schedule you just have to go with their schedule. Sometimes this makes me feel like am not getting anywhere with my blog especially if I see my traffic go down a bit. I always try and remember to try and motivate myself to keep going and remember why I started my blog. Another tip I use is to try and find the day and time I can fit in my blogging and social media time into my schedule even if it is for an hour. Sometimes I even include my mommy time, for example taking pictures of my toddlers outfits and using them for my Instagram post.

3. Interaction

In conclusion, the last and not least is interaction. I never knew how hard it is to get and gain social interaction on social media with other fellow bloggers. I find this the most frustrating thing ever being a blogger. I know it involves vice versa but i find it really irritating. It’s even harder for me being a mommy blogger since I can’t be on so much and I go M.I.A for a few days so I don’t get to interact online. Whenever I do I swear I get 0-2 responses back, I mean if I get 1-2 that’s a start but it’s really hard. The hardest platform is instagram and I know it’s not just me as a blogger but for a lot of other bloggers too. I decided to put in more motives when being more social online. I do admit that I am an introvert so I can be a little more outgoing and open online. I realized doing this can help grow my platform grow more and also for Instagram. It can also show my follows who I am more and it’s one way people will interact more with you as a blogger. Furthermore it’s the best way to overcome our challenges as bloggers to to change and find solutions that can work for us to fix these challenges we have.

Thank you all for reading this post. If you haven’t read my last blog post you can find that HERE. Please tune into a new post next Monday 9AM EST standard time. I hope you all found this post helpful, if you have anything you wish you knew before blogging please let me know in the comments! Please like, comment and follow! Hello November

Hey everyone, welcome back! Hello November I know it’s been awhile since I’ve put up a post. I have been gone actually the whole of October. I had October blog plans but life happened. So much has happened in October and I decided to take a breather and return for November. My plan is to be a consistent blogger but I always remember am a mother and wife and it’s okay to take a break.

 November

It is November, I have so much going on this month and plans ahead. I am so excited to get back to blogging and planning my posts for this month. For the month of November I want to do a lot of lifestyle posts this month. I have a few mommy posts in mind and planned ahead, I am going to open up and take about my blogging struggles as a mommy blogger. And I plan on keeping it 100% raw and real with you all. Of course I’ll choose to share what I feel comfortable with sharing and keeping what I want kept personal. I may chose to share it of course whenever I feel when it’s okay. I will be posting my mommy routine morning and night. How I handle my blog plannings and when I get time to do both.

This month I have a lot of exciting things planned. It is amazing to me that this time last year I was gone and pregnant with my second daughter. And this month she will be one already. Literally two weeks away exactly I will be throwing her a party. And of course I will be posting pictures, if you are interested in keeping up with me my social media is posted on my blog page. I honestly thank you all for being there still for me and being apart of my page. A lot has been going on and I try for everything not to get in the way of posting. But sometimes life just kicks you in the but. I wanted to get this post up sooner of course but unfortunately I couldn’t.

Overall for the rest of November, I have a lot of exciting things planned for this month. I also have official great use I got my self an iPad so I will be back to posting whenever. I am so happy it has not been easy going without a laptop. I will be posting my mommy routine this Wednesday, also if you haven’t all got to read my last post you can find that HERE. Thank you all for reading my little update and plans for my November.

My Self Care Routine

Hey everyone, and welcome back to another blog post. Wednesday already and half way through the week. For today’s blog post I wanted to share my usual self care routine. Now since am a mom I dont get much time for myself to be honest so whenever I do get a chance I do these usual routines. Its important to get some time out of the day or week to have a little self care time I believe its healthy for us. And its extremely important of course for us mom because it helps us not lose ourselves in motherhood. Now the best brand for your care needs would be Farm House Fresh. They have the best products go check them out now!

Self Care

Shower Time

Now I know a shower is just a shower, but I love when I get time out. This is one of my best care times because I love doing a good body scrub. Right now I am currently using a caramel body scrub and I absolutely love it. Almost every time I get my time out to go shower I am using this. Another great tip I use that I actually found on Pinterest is a great shaving tip. If you are a shaver like me a great tip is to use Johnsons baby oil prior to shaving. In the shower and then your going to want to shave. This prevents ingrown hairs and helps get a better shave then shaving dry. This also helps hydrate your skin when you come out your legs will be so soft I promise yall!

Work Out

Working out is another great idea, I am going to be completely honest I hate to work out. After having two kids my tummy has not been looking to great. And I gave in to least try and change that. One of my revolutions was to least try and work out this year so I have been trying to. I have not been doing it on a regular but I try to whenever I have the energy. Its not as fast results but I am proud because we all have to start somewhere right.

Nails & Make up

Now another great thing we can do for ourselves is least get our nails done or get pretty for no reason. One thing I do whenever my husband is home is go and get my nails done! I love just having time out for me and have time to relax. And to be honest it feels pretty good I dont even care how much I spend on them. I do though always do my own toes at home. I dont trust nail salon tubs I just have heard to many horror stories in college since am a esthetican. However if I am not doing that another great thing that makes me feel good is make up. Sometimes we just need to put on some makeup, even if we not going out sometimes we need to do something for oursleves. I use to prior to baby number two always have time for this and now I rarely touch my box. I usually not even in the mood to put it out when I go out because I dont have the time. But I honestly want to get back into finding time, hopefully soon I can.

Breakfast

So I am not much a healthy eater but I always try to have breakfast in the mornings. My usual routine after dropping my oldest off at school is laying down with little one for awhile. Then when she goes down for her nap by 11:00 AM I am then usually hungry and go quickly make something. My usual : Eggs, Oatmeal, Toast, Banana, Waffles, Bagels with a cup of coffee.

Self Care

Down Time

Last but not least having some down time. As a mom I always make sure to get a break into the days and especially after the kids go to sleep. Throughout the day my down time usually consist of Netflex and some good online shopping or browsing. This helps me reflect relax a bit and rest my body. Even if your not a mother we humans are always on the go. Its always good to get a break in and relax a bit and gain some energy. If I honestly didn’t take any down time for myself I couldn’t have typed this post lol. By 6pm I usually dont have energy in me and cannot wait till 7pm – 8pm bedtime to finally get the whole night to myself. I am sometimes to exhausted and just need that whole time and night to regain my energy.

That is all for my self care routine, I hope you all found some of my tips useful. I am surprised I found energy to type this out tonight. But remember to squeeze in a little care through out your day we all need to be pampered. I feel like all of this is what least helps me and keeps me going. Thank you all for reading, please remember to like & comment I always love hearing from you all. And if you haven’t checked out my last post you can do so HERE.

Ipsy September Bag

Hey everyone, welcome back to my blog page! I hope everyone had a great weekend. Back to another long week for me, I am hoping this week is better than the last. For Monday’s post I wanted to do a post on what I got in my September Ipsy bag. If you would love to take a look at their site you can find that HERE.

Ipsy

The first product I’ll be talking about is the IT Cosmetics facial cleanser. This is a one step use skincare solution that hydrates and cleanses the skin. This skincare cleanser is used for every skin type out there. It also helps with dryness, dullness, uneven texture and fine lines and wrinkles. When using the product you would gently massage the product onto the skin for about 30 seconds and then rinse and pat dry.

The next product inside is the Colourec Raine eye shadow in champagne life. Champagne life is a vibrant gold shadow color, the brand makes their eye shadows super bendable for a long lasting finish. Above all the eye shadows sell for $6.99 USD, their products are also cruelty free. I am not much of a eye shadow girl and I also haven’t heard of this brand but I actually love how the color looks. I am impressed that Ipsy picked out a color I can actually wear and blends in with my skin tone. If you would love to check out the brand please click the link above. In addition this next product I have I am excited to try because I always wanted to but never ended getting it is the Benefit Cosmetic gimme brow!

September Top Ipsy Product

This is the brow volumizing tinting fiber gel. The micro fibers in the gel help crate a natural looking fullness to your brows. You would press through your brows to crate your perfect look and definition of your choice. The mini version sells for $17.00 CAD on sephora. I struggle a lot with keeping my brows on through out the days. My face tends to start getting oily, in other words am excited to try this out and see of this product can help. Now the second to last product found in my bag is by Qhemet Biologics, burdock root butter cream. This product keeps fine, thin hair moisturized for days.

How Burdock Root Works

This creamy leave in delivers the perfect amount of moisture to thin, fine and low porosity 4b-4a hair, keeping it soft and supple for days! Ideal for thick, high porosity 3c hair too, a little of our Burdock Root Butter Cream packs a heavy punch helping to retain length by keeping dry, brittle edges soft and supporting growth with nourishing botanicals. – Qhemet Biologics

Ingredients: Contains Pure Mediterranean Olive Oil for softness and emollience, Burdock Root, Nettle Leaf and Oatstraw for conditioning, scalp nourishing and shine enhancing, vegetable glycerin for humectancy and MSM for healthy hair growth. – Qhemet Biologics

  • No mineral oil
  • No proteins
  • No silicones
  • No dyes
  • No artificial fragrances
  • No parabens
  • Has a natural, light citrus scent

In conclusion, my last product in my September ipsy bag is the Ofra lip gloss smiley for ryleigh. This lip gloss has a sheer shimmer to it and its a comfortable gloss. These glosses are sun filtered, shine, cruelty free and vegan. I have not tried the gloss as yet am not much of a shimmer person when it comes to glosses but I will give it a try. One of the best things about getting an ipsy bag or any kind of monthly make up subscription bag is getting exposed to these small beauty brands.

I have never heard of any of these brands but am always open to trying them. If you would like to know more about ipsy just click the link above! That is all for September bag, please like & leave a comment I always love to hear from you all. If you havent checked out my last post please do so HERE.
