Hey everyone, welcome back to another blog post! Happy Tuesday I hope everyone weekend went well? I sadly had to schedule Monday post for today because of mom life taking over on Sunday, that I honestly forgot to plan and schedule my post. Sunday was simply not my dad it was super busy, but I am happy I got it up now. For today’s blog post I wanted to do an review on the Fenty foundation. I wanted to give my honest opinion on the product since I’ve got to use it a couple times now.
Awhile back I purchased the Fenty Beauty pro filter soft matte long wear foundation, it’s known for a soft matte build-able coverage. Also comes in 50 shades, I have purchased the colour 410. I wanted to give this foundation a try due to me loving the Fenty glosses and the foundation seemed light, also this foundation was matte and am a sucker for matte foundations. I also saw how it was for combination skin types which I am so I decided why not? I purchased the colour in 410 because my skin number I got matched with matched me with that and I saw it somewhat matched my skin tone. Despite it chose that colour I feel like it’s not exactly my skin shade to get it to blend well I have to buff it out a couple times. I also found the shade really bright and comes off really yellow and to tell you the truth I hate foundations that come off with a strong yellow undertone, I find those are the ones that leave you with the “mask” look. The foundation felt light and I found it did give a matte finish, and little goes a long way. I overall ended up somewhat disliking but I feel it was more to Sephora recommending the wrong shade but I feel like it’s because it’s the closest shade to me. I usually use to highlight areas on my face, other then that it’s pretty much less used. I wouldn’t say the foundation is awful but I am currently not loving how this shade blends with me, if this is the only shade for me I don’t see myself using this foundation.
Thanks for reading my review, if you’ve have purchased this foundation what are your thoughts on it? Is it your fav? I love to hear your thoughts, next planned blog post will be up Wednesday at 9am EST!
Hey everyone, and welcome back to another blog post! Happy Monday I hope everyone weekend went well? Mine went great I feel like this weekend even the last week went by too quick. For today’s blog post I wanted to share what keeps me going and motivated when it comes to blogging.
I know as bloggers we all go through rough patches and moments of forgetting why we started blogging, or moments of frustration with a specific problem or maybe even life taking over and we slowly give up. Yup, I go through these every now and then. I have my moments of frustration to where I always ask myself “what am I doing wrong?” Or is my content good enough? To where I have had life take over and I had to totally put blogging on hold. That moment was really rough for me because when I had returned my blog was barely getting any traffic and I had to work extra hard and put out double the posts to let every know like “heyy am back!” . My biggest challenge so far as a blogger is getting huge amounts of traffic, like this drives me insane to where I always feel like giving up. Sometimes I can’t even be bothered to days I literally am up a day reading blogs on blogs of how to improve your traffic.
What I realized is there is no secret to what gets everyone going. It’s why we started blogging and the story behind it. I always remember the day I left me job and was home doing absolutely nothing, and I just decided to start little Black Dress out of no where. I always try and remember the days I struggled in school due to having a learning disability and it interfering with jobs and having people tell me I can’t. Little Black Dress came from a mom being able to be herself and express who Sarah is. I would say one of the biggest reasons I stay motivated is wanting to conquer my shyness, I hate public speaking and opening up and I feel like this is the only place I can do it. I don’t want me being “shy” take over and stop me from getting what I want in life and this is it this is the answer so far in achieving just that.
If we all just take a minute through those times and think to really why we started everything that’s the best motivation we can get. To even where the promotions, money and social media fame wouldn’t mean anything to us but the enjoyment of putting out posts. I am also so blessed to have a supportive husband who always supports my blogging, he is always there to help me and always even willing to proofread my work (always embarrassing for me). He gives me ideas and always asks me how it’s doing and willing to invest in anything I need. I honestly don’t know what I would do without him I feel like he is that extra push I need to keep going, it’s always good to have that support system that would be your cheerleader when you are down and stuck. Before blogging I honestly didn’t know it was going to be this hard but I don’t regret it one bit! Thanks everyone for reading! I hope this post help in someway or another, next post will be up Wednesday at 9am EST.
Hey everyone, welcome back to another blog post. Happy Monday! I am so happy I will get this week to have a bit of relaxation due to my daughter being on spring break. This gives me more time to work on my blog and do more Pinterest, I am officially on the Pinterest obsession. For today’s blog post I am finally doing my review for my Huda beauty foundation and the Morphe palette I got awhile back. I wanted to use these products a couple times before having my thought on these products.
So I got the Huda beauty faux filter foundation, I have been dying to try this foundation out. I have heard really good things about this product and also all the tutorial video have pulled me in. This foundation is full coverage foundation, it has 30 shades it’s a natural finish and this foundation is for combination to oily skin type. I so far absolutely love this foundation it is now my top foundation, I have been using it every time I been doing my make up. It does what it says it has the best coverage and it feels hydrating on my skin, it blends in so well. I love how gives off a smooth silky look and I find it holds up a good time throughout the day. I would honestly purchase this again and again, the first time I used this foundation I did end up breaking out but I would not say maybe it was the foundation I honestly do not know if it was but I still would purchase this. I would love to try the primer with this product, I might just end up giving it a try and see how well they work together. Overall this was a well worth buy, I would consider you all giving this product a try if you haven’t!
The next product I got was the Morphe (just noticed I have totally been spelling the name wrong) 9B bronzed babe eye shadow palette. I am not a person to wear eye shadow but I automatically fell in love with this palette as son as I seen it on Sephora. This palette has nine creamy shimmering shades, it has very pigmented shades which is what made me party fall in love with this product. Most palettes I have used over the years the colours haven’t been very pigmented and that is one of the biggest disappointments. So far using the palette I have nothing bad to say, the colours show up well and blend well also. I know one of the hardest problems for me was finding palettes that have a good amount of shades that will look good with my tone of skin and this does the job! I honestly love a good neutral tones and bronze tones anything that is more in the fall scheme which this palette is.
If I had to purchase this product again I would honestly purchase it again, it is the first palette I dont regret purchasing. The colours are true to tone as online, and I also love the packaging also. I was not disappointed in this shopping trip, I would recommend you all to go check that palette out. And that is my honest review on these products, thanks to you all for taking time for reading my thoughts. I hope this review helped on your thoughts on these products or even brand, look out for my next post which will be up Wednesday at 9am EST time.
Hey everyone, welcome back to another blog post. Happy Tuesday I hope everyone had a great weekend, mine was super busy but at least has Sunday to relax a bit and unwind. Its a full busy week for me though hopefully I can get everything needed done. I wanted to start the week off with a current “whats in my makeup bag” post, I have done one a while back and wanted to do an updated one as because a makeup bag never stays the same am I right?
So one thing I have realised is I carry so much more in my makeup bag then before. I believe because of current product obsession and also maybe because of the current season? I live in Toronto, ON so it is currently winter so every season I only carry around products I need or currently need that specific day.
Whats in my makeup bag? So first thing I absolutely need always when am out is the current lipstick or gloss I am wearing that day of course in case I need to reapply. Also what I always need next is sometimes I carry around tissue, the reason is to blot, throughout the day I sometimes get a bit oily around my T zone and chin area and I hate walking around without touching up my face. Another top need is my lash glue, I now wear lashes every time I do a full on face or even if i just do my brows I have to have lashes on. In case a lash pops off I always make sure to have my lash glue. Those are all my top beauty must haves in my make up bag that has to always be there no matter what season, I even keep a lip balm in my bag for dry lips to apply before my lipstick or even if though out the day I dont want lipstick on anymore and just a balm its there. That should be in every beauty bag especially in the winter.
For the other beauty products I have that usually do change related to season, is I always have different primers in my make up bag. This is usually a change for me on mood, if I feel like using one primer I haven’t to in awhile id use it also it depends how my skin is feeling. But the top primer I usually use 90% of the time is the Becca matte primer, this helps me not get a oily face though out the day. So in my beauty bag I also usually have my brow essentials laying in there that isn’t a beauty must I need through out the day but I usually say to myself ” What if I need to fix my brows?” and so because of that I walk around with that also. But to be honest I do carry around a bunch of random things in my beauty bag I dont really need. When I am applying make up I sometimes use products and just then dump it into my bag and I then just leave it and because of this when I do carry around my bag its just packed with some products I dont even need or least at the time. One of the things I noticed I have a lot in my beauty bag is moisturiser I carry around different kinds and this is because of what I just explained, at this time its not so much a bad thing because its currently winter here in Toronto, ON and its pretty bad at the moment and its always good to keep moisturised.
I always love keeping a good mascara in my bag also, and I honestly dont need that around but I love collecting beauty samples from Sephora and I love trying out new mascaras am currently loving the Marc Jacobs one. And I always just throw them into my make up bag as a current habit. A non beauty item I love keeping is a good hair tie, yes I carry around a hair tie this is because anytime I am out and am annoyed of my hair or I need to tie it up I always got one on me. And I know id end up needing one because there has been a couple times when it came in handy. Well ! that is pretty much it for whats in my make up bag, its not a big bag so I do not keep that much in there but hopefully what I may keep in there could help one of you with yours! Also I know again I have been late with Monday post due to being a mom and being sleep deprived hopefully I can get back on track and get my blog posts done by Sunday I hope everyone understands. I hope you guys have a great rest of your Tuesday !
Good morning everyone ! and welcome back to another blog post and happy Tuesday to everyone. I hope everyone is having a great start to their Tuesday, Valentines day is now over even though everyday should be valentines day. My valentines day went great it was filled with love and stress as I was also still being a mom but it went how i somewhat expected it to go. I realised sometimes its hard getting that dream date you envision when your a 24/7 parent, as long your significant other tried that all that matters.
Well my Thursday morning started off with a manicure, I was way overdue for one. My husband drove me to the nail bar, this was actually one of my valentines gifts as he paid for my manicure which was super sweet of him. After my nail appointment it was back to mommy duties and reality, when I came home my husband actually ended up surprising me with another gift he hid. After he dropped me off at my nail appointment he actually took our daughter with him to the store to pick up my gift. For over a year now I’ve been obsessing over having a keurig I love coffee, and he actually went out and got it! I was so surprised because the day before valentines day he told me the gifts he had planned on getting was not going to come in by tomorrow which he had lied. He also ended up getting our oldest daughter a heart shaped box of chocolates. We didn’t get to go out that night because he had to work so we put our plans for tomorrow the 15th, so it was pretty much mom duties for the rest of that day.
Later on that night my husbands calls me saying I got a package coming to the door, I really didn’t expect this I thought it was makeup. I answer the door and notice it was a package from Amazon the box was pretty small and really light so am wondering what it can be plus my husband seemed really excited. I quickly open the package and it was a iphone tripod mount, I was wondering why my husband just ordered a mount and not the tripod, my husband knows I’ve been really wanting one to start doing videos and use it for also blogging. Funny thing is he thought the tripod came with mount, and I had to simply explain to him its two separate things. I find my husband funny sometimes but I love that he goes beyond for me, and that what I took into consideration that moment. So since we couldn’t go out that night because my husband had to work we saved the date for the Friday night. So we went out to Moxies bar and grill one of my favourite restaurants, and had a wonderful time. We did a movie and dinner date night, so we went to watch escape room which by the way you all should go watch its so good. Then it was to sephora where he allowed me to pick what I liked and he would buy, which I don’t thing ill ever try and go in on Friday nights again. Overall this year valentines day was amazing hopefully next year me and my husband can go somewhere.
And that is my valentines day in an review, at my best. I cannot complain I could see my husband tried his best to make it special for us which is hard with a baby and a five year old. I wish we could go full on out but being parents you get what you can get. But thanks for reading, I was behind on posting this because you all know my posting schedule is Mondays at 9am and Wednesday at 3pm but yesterday was such an hard day my 3 month old was not having it yesterday. It was a really bad day for her and me I honestly got nothing done yesterday so I am behind for this post but tomorrow post will still be going up usual time. Thanks for all bearing with me and still supporting me, I hope you all have a great rest of the day.
