Hey everyone, welcome back to another post. I am happy I was able to get this post out, this post was long overdue. For today’s post I wanted to talk about how to contour. Contouring is a application technique used to create shadows and bring out your facial structure. This helps makes certain parts of the face stand out and also appear slimmer. The highlight part of contour and highlighting helps bring out the glow in your face of where the sun naturally hits.
So first I want to talk about the basics with contouring. When it comes to contouring you want to choose a shade that is one shade lighter down from your skin tone. Also another tip is knowing your face shape. One thing I notice a lot is that some people tend to contour the same. Your not going to want to do that. Your going to want to determine your face shape first so you know what areas to contour. For example, I have an heart shaped face so I try to always bring out my cheek bones and pay attention to around my chin area. Another tip is making sure to use the right product. But this would be all up to you!
Prime with a primer also a moisturizer for your face.
Apply your favourite foundation. With a damp beauty blender.
To contour, your going to want to follow the structure and shadows of your own face shape. If you want to define your jaw line your going to want to blend powder or cream along your jawline. If you want to bring out your cheek bones follow the same steps. Here’s another tip if you love your nose you do not need to contour your nose!
Set your make up, remember to along your T zone. Your going to want to do this with a setting powder. After setting with a powder you can set with a setting spray. Your going to just spray this and this will bring your makeup altogether!
I hope this post was helpful, I tried to get as detailed as possible. I hope you all enjoyed today’s post. If any of you have any questions about contour and highlighting please leave a comment. I am always happy to help and I always love reading your comments and questions. I must say contour and highlighting (well more contouring) is one of my favourite parts to a completed makeup look. I love bringing out my natural cheek bones and just playing around with it. What are some of your favourite products for contour and highlighting? Do you find it easy or difficult when it comes to contouring? Please leave a comment, like and please share! Also if you haven’t checked out my last post you can find that HERE.
Hey everyone, welcome back to another blog post. Welcome to my last blog post of the year. I can’t believe am at my last blog post of the year. Another year down of blogging for me, it’s insane. Feels like yesterday when I pick up my laptop and decided to start a blog right there and then. For today’s post I wanted to talk about my 2019 year in a review.
Beginning of 2019
The start of 2019 was year two of my blog. It has grown so much from since starting in 2018. I wanted to achieve a lot this year with my blog and I can say am somewhat pleased and happy with the outcome. I did have a totally different outcome when it came to views and traffic. Last year at the beginning of 2018 I did get pregnant with my second daughter and totally fell off from blogging. This decline my views and traffic a whole lot. I stopped blogging due to always sleeping and just the just of pregnancy symptoms. I started back December 2018 and decided to work and gain back my audience in 2019. Beginning of the year was pretty tough when finding the time to blog due to me finding how to manage two kids especially a newborn.
Middle of the year
Middle of my year was pretty great for 2019. It was exciting watching my baby grow into a one year old. My oldest turning six and this year was my two year anniversary with my husband. We spent our time on our first trip away from the kids. I also did a post about that which you can find that HERE. My views for my blog in the middle of the year were pretty good. To be honest with you all they weren’t as big of a number as I wanted it to be but they were larger then last year. I am happy because I was still where I wanted to be and I made progress. I am actually surprised I kept up with my blog in the summer due to me moving which was a huge change for me. I had to adapt to moving out into the country from the city. I need to develop a new schedule that fit with me and find a time to do my blogging. The summer I got actually a good amount of high views which I was happy about. I would say most of my views was from early on in the year towards the summer. I’m happy that I got to accomplish my goal.
Ending of 2019
The last few months, I would say was my hardest to adjust and maintain my blog page. And to be honest throughout this year I had periods of when I was disappointed. And I would would wonder if I should even continue at all. I felt like I wasn’t reaching where I wanted to be even though I did accomplish some goals on views throughout the year. I decided not to put out any blog posts for the month of October. This is because my mom life took over a lot that month I tried planning for that month and was unsuccessful. I decided to use that month and plan for November and take a break. For the month of November my youngest turned one, I officially have a toddler.
If I had to give advice to someone about blogging, especially a mom blogger. I’ve learned this year (trying to remember) that it’s okay to feel discouraged sometimes. That’s every blogger route is different for some it may come easier and for some it might just take us a little bit longer. That all I can do is keep making goals and working hard. And that it’s fine if I have periods I need a break family always comes first. Overall am not to upset about 2019 progress, and hopefully 2020 is much better. Thank you all for reading. Please comment, share and like! If you haven’t read my last post you can find that HERE.
Hey everyone, welcome back to another blog post. I can’t believe it’s the first of December already! I find it insane that the year is coming to an end already. And its also me and my husband birthday month. I am thinking of doing an birthday post for the week of my birthday but I am unsure of what to write about. If not I will most likely be putting up extra posts on my social media. If you are not yet following me on their you will find it on my page. For this post I will be doing my November in review.
November, I returned back to blogging. I did not get to put out as much blog posts as I wanted but I am happy that I at least got to get some out then none. November I decided to focus on a lot more personal posts. I wanted to do a lot more life style posts. I realized that I don’t open up a lot on my blog or social media. Not as often and I wanted to not many as you may know that I am an introvert. And blogging is a way for me to open up more. November I decided to use that month to make it a month to open up.
November was a great month for me in search engine results. It’s not much of a big number but the days I never post and I was still getting views on my page. I find it a amazing how you can write a blog post from a year and two ago and it can randomly become popular in a certain month. I have one blog pertaining to fashion that i wrote in my first year of blogging and now it’s getting tons of traffic in November. My overall views for November was not to bad it is kind of where I wanted it to be. I am hoping to gain a lot more for December. I am planning to end the year off on a good stat in views and traffic.
Now for December, I won’t be doing blogmas for this year but I do want to put out a good amount of posts for the end of the year. I won’t promise but I will try just because being a mommy and keeping up with posts is unpredictable already. So great news is I already got posts lined up for December. Make sure to look out for new posts Monday and Wednesday’s. I will be doing Christmas related posts which is exciting because I love to include my kids a lot in these posts. I hope I can achieve my goals for this month so I can end it even better as last year. If I can’t it is still okay because there is January 2020! Thanks for everyone for reading today’s post, if you haven’t got to read last post you can find that HERE! Please follow if you haven’t already and like & comment I always love to hear from you all. Until next post!
Hey everyone, welcome back. First things first I was suppose to have a blog up Monday morning. But due to me throwing my youngest daughter her first birthday Sunday night I literally got thrown off schedule. I was so busy Sunday night I didn’t even get to start half of my post. I was deciding if I should put up Monday post for Tuesday and keep Wednesday post the same. But that would be too close of a catch up for me so I am now posting Monday’s post today Wednesday. For today’s post I wanted to talk about the three major things I wish I knew before starting a blog. Now this is going to be my raw thoughts based on my experiences.
Initially I started blogging when I only had my oldest. At the time I started she was about four years old started school. I decided to quit my job and was fed up in my field of work and that’s when I decided to start my dream and start a blog. Now since in the days I had a lot of time of my hands I had time to meet my deadlines and post whenever I planned on posting. Now obviously things and life has changed but before starting a blog I never knew the amount of time in and time loss I’d have. Now that I am a mom of two I have loss time on post schedules and sacrifice uploads for sleep. I never knew the difficulties of blogging while being a mom and wife.
Another major difficulty’s many bloggers have is gaining traffic. Being a blogger I have realized time and traffic go hand in hand. If you want more traffic and interaction you always need to put time in. This has been the hardest for me especially when I don’t get to make out time a specific day because that week or day can just be busy for me. Usually kids never really want to go by your schedule you just have to go with their schedule. Sometimes this makes me feel like am not getting anywhere with my blog especially if I see my traffic go down a bit. I always try and remember to try and motivate myself to keep going and remember why I started my blog. Another tip I use is to try and find the day and time I can fit in my blogging and social media time into my schedule even if it is for an hour. Sometimes I even include my mommy time, for example taking pictures of my toddlers outfits and using them for my Instagram post.
In conclusion, the last and not least is interaction. I never knew how hard it is to get and gain social interaction on social media with other fellow bloggers. I find this the most frustrating thing ever being a blogger. I know it involves vice versa but i find it really irritating. It’s even harder for me being a mommy blogger since I can’t be on so much and I go M.I.A for a few days so I don’t get to interact online. Whenever I do I swear I get 0-2 responses back, I mean if I get 1-2 that’s a start but it’s really hard. The hardest platform is instagram and I know it’s not just me as a blogger but for a lot of other bloggers too. I decided to put in more motives when being more social online. I do admit that I am an introvert so I can be a little more outgoing and open online. I realized doing this can help grow my platform grow more and also for Instagram. It can also show my follows who I am more and it’s one way people will interact more with you as a blogger. Furthermore it’s the best way to overcome our challenges as bloggers to to change and find solutions that can work for us to fix these challenges we have.
Thank you all for reading this post. If you haven’t read my last blog post you can find that HERE. Please tune into a new post next Monday 9AM EST standard time. I hope you all found this post helpful, if you have anything you wish you knew before blogging please let me know in the comments! Please like, comment and follow! I always love to hear from you all!
Hey everyone, welcome back to another blog post! I hope everyone is having a great week so far. I can’t believe it’s Thursday already we’re pretty much more half way through the week. It’s crazy starting next week Tuesday it’s back to school over here. There was supposed to be a blog post posted yesterday but because of the craziness I decided to try and get one out today. For today’s blog post I am going to be doing my full thought on the glow recipe sleeping mask.
The glow recipe sleeping mask is a radiance boosting and skin smoothing mask. This mask has watermelon and hyaluronic acid also AHA’s that gently exfoliate the skin while you sleep! Anyone can pretty much use this mask it is for dry, normal, combination and oily skin types. This mask helps with your pores, dryness and your daily oil concerns. The main ingredients in this mask are of course watermelon, which helps with skin inflammation and it also helps hydrate the skin while you sleep. Also as stated hyaluronic acid this also helps hydrate the skin and the AHA’s in the product helps exfoliate, brighten and remove dead skin cells from the skin. One of the top reasons why I am loving this product is because it states it is a pillow proofing product. The mask is also vegan and cruelty free!
I used this product a couple times, I wanted to get the full on feel of the product before I decided how I like the product. First off I love the texture of the sleeping mask. I do not love how it feels at first when applying, I love the feel after words when worked in. I feel like its feels a bit sticky when at touch and applying. I love how I dont need a huge amount of product when applying the mask. I made sure to read the application steps online before using the product. And you honestly only need a small amount, a little goes a long way.
How to use: For a sleeping mask your going to want to use a generous layer. If you are a dry skin type simply apply a dime size amount onto the skin. When applying the product you would pat the product then rubbing the product in. The product does have different instructions if you want to use it as a wash off mask instead. But it is ideal if you have stressed skin or sensitive (inflamed). Instead you would just apply a thick amount of the product. Let the product sit for about 10 minutes then you would rinse off with lukewarm water.
In overall I would most likely use this mask for part of my night time routine. I love the packaging for glow recipe and their general color for the brand. I am planning on purchasing more of their products. The watermelon glow ultra fine mist, avocado melt retinal sleeping mask and pineapple C brighting serum I really want to try. If any of you have bought any of these products and tried them out let me know how you like them! Thank you all for reading and until the next blog post! If you haven’t go and check out my last recent post HERE.
