Hey everyone, and welcome back to another blog post. Happy Thursday I hope everyone week is going well, for today’s blog post i wanted to share my kids thrift haul in review of some recent purchases I did and how the whole trip went. So funny story my at the time three month old needed a new swing and my mom decided me and my husband to go to ” Once upon a child” a thrift store in Toronto for kids and babies and sell our old one and buy a new used one from there.

I was so hesitant on this because to be honest I am not much of a thrifting person, I never have for me or my oldest most of her clothing comes from zara. So me and my husband get there and I start looking around and omg guys I start getting carried away and picking up items. I have so far made about two trips so far or three and I have bought so much items that came up to about $70.00 CAD, that is about the same amount for three items i buy at zara.

I swear it has became an obsession for me because now whenever I get money that’s all I think about thrifting. I am happy for the least I gave something a try and stepped out my comfort zone, now don’t get me wrong there is nothing wrong with thrift stores but that was the first time I ever really been in one. For my overall experience it was great, the clothing most is new and the ones used is actually not to bad looking you cant really tell for the most that they are used. The service I had was okay I received great service the only thing I think that part of their service that is not so good is how much they give you in selling. It seems what you give to sell they dont pay you as much as what the item may cost, I have picked up some designer clothes from there and they didn’t cost much seriously i paid for some for about $5.00 CAD.

I know it is a thrift store and the whole idea is buying a lot for less but if I paid for an item for a lot I would want at least a decent amount of money back. Another down side was that they sell a lot of cute clothes from newborn till about 3 years and I noticed for my oldest daughter which she is about 5 going on 6 they didn’t have good clothes to me for her age. Pretty much what id buy there for her is about dresses and pj’s. The items I did get were some dresses for my oldest because it was all I can find that i liked, and for my four month old I got some cute shorts for her and some cute outfits I got to find a good decent amount of clothes. My most favourite items from both of them if I had to chose would be one of the dress from my oldest and this cute jeans jacket I found for my youngest. Overall I would say I am now a 100% thrift shopper, I know for sure ill be spending a lot of time there. Thanks for reading, because of a busy day yesterday I did not get to post yesterday I hate when I have to switch up the schedule due to a busy week but I am happy I at least got to get it up today. Monday usual post will be up at 9am EST time for sure, have a great rest of your Thursday!

Hey everyone, and welcome back to another blog post! Happy Monday I hope everyone weekend went well? Mine went great I feel like this weekend even the last week went by too quick. For today’s blog post I wanted to share what keeps me going and motivated when it comes to blogging.

I know as bloggers we all go through rough patches and moments of forgetting why we started blogging, or moments of frustration with a specific problem or maybe even life taking over and we slowly give up. Yup, I go through these every now and then. I have my moments of frustration to where I always ask myself “what am I doing wrong?” Or is my content good enough? To where I have had life take over and I had to totally put blogging on hold. That moment was really rough for me because when I had returned my blog was barely getting any traffic and I had to work extra hard and put out double the posts to let every know like “heyy am back!” . My biggest challenge so far as a blogger is getting huge amounts of traffic, like this drives me insane to where I always feel like giving up. Sometimes I can’t even be bothered to days I literally am up a day reading blogs on blogs of how to improve your traffic.

What I realized is there is no secret to what gets everyone going. It’s why we started blogging and the story behind it. I always remember the day I left me job and was home doing absolutely nothing, and I just decided to start little Black Dress out of no where. I always try and remember the days I struggled in school due to having a learning disability and it interfering with jobs and having people tell me I can’t. Little Black Dress came from a mom being able to be herself and express who Sarah is. I would say one of the biggest reasons I stay motivated is wanting to conquer my shyness, I hate public speaking and opening up and I feel like this is the only place I can do it. I don’t want me being “shy” take over and stop me from getting what I want in life and this is it this is the answer so far in achieving just that.

If we all just take a minute through those times and think to really why we started everything that’s the best motivation we can get. To even where the promotions, money and social media fame wouldn’t mean anything to us but the enjoyment of putting out posts. I am also so blessed to have a supportive husband who always supports my blogging, he is always there to help me and always even willing to proofread my work (always embarrassing for me). He gives me ideas and always asks me how it’s doing and willing to invest in anything I need. I honestly don’t know what I would do without him I feel like he is that extra push I need to keep going, it’s always good to have that support system that would be your cheerleader when you are down and stuck. Before blogging I honestly didn’t know it was going to be this hard but I don’t regret it one bit! Thanks everyone for reading! I hope this post help in someway or another, next post will be up Wednesday at 9am EST.

Good afternoon everyone! and welcome back to another blog post. Happy Wednesday I hope everyone is having a great day so far? Here we are half way through the week already. For today blog post we will be digging into skincare and talking about a big issue for a lot of people, I’ve noticed working in the skin industry which is acne. For this post we will be looking into skin and at different segments to understand how skin works and the steps needed to diminish acne scaring.

So first things first the questions we always ask ourselves “how does acne scaring start?” and “why does it almost always leave a scar?” well now to answer these questions. There is different types of scaring their not all the same but acne scars most occur when acne occur and it is irritated before time. From picking to popping when it is not ready or it is inflamed or even when touching your face all the bacteria from you fingers get onto your skin this can lead to scaring, the best thing to do is to leave it alone and find the best products to assist your skin.

So the question now “how do I diminish my scars”, well to be honest with you all this is not going to just go over night. I can be honest again and tell you if you start with this and keep doing it you will see results, I am one to say it works I did have a few scars and now my face is pretty clear. We all know we always have dead skin cells on our skin and new skin cells are produced, and to get the cycle going and make sure we are on top of removing old skin cells the key to that is to always exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate! This process removes the dead skin off your body and allows new skin cells to come, this is so important because the more you exfoliate the more overtime your pigmentation on your face will slowly but surely go. Make sure you know your skin type also this would help you determine in what exfoliate to get and also how many times a week to exfoliate and help you start a skin regimen. Keeping up this process will start shedding away those scars and your face will start glowing, and trust me your skin will thank you.

The next thing you want to keep up is your products, its not recommended to exfoliate and not apply product afterwords or even sunscreen/sunblock. When exfoliated your skin is exposed to the sun and pollution. Other ways of removing acne scars a bit of a faster way and skipping some steps for the process is more costly but someone who tried it I would recommend. The first one is having micro-dermabrasion done, this is a technique which someone is working with crystals. The top of the skin is peeled, this is a type of exfoliation on the skin which allows the skin to renew process (this treatment does not hurt lol) . I have had this treatment done more than once and given this treatment more than once I highly recommend this one. The next treatment which is great is chemical peels this is a treatment used to improve the appearance of your face, neck and even hands. So a mixture of a chemical fluid is applied to your face and this exfoliates the skin and causes the skin to soon peel off, and the new skin then comes through and is much more smoother. The next is laser skin resurfacing, its a skin resurfacing treatment that uses a laser to improve the appearance of the skin. This treatment treats minor facial flaws, by removing thin layers of the skin.

There is more medical treatments that’s can help improve the appearance of the skin, but of course I cannot go on and on. But for advice id recommend buying your favourite exfoliate and exfoliating as much as needed and following up with products and serums. That is it for Wednesday post there will be a new post up Monday, remember to comment & like even post questions I love always hearing from you all! I hope you have a great rest of your Wednesday.

Good morning everyone, welcome back to another blog post. Happy Monday back to a whole new week, I hope everyone morning is going good so far? I noticed I haven’t been doing much make up haul or posts lately and I want to start posting more posts related to beauty for the next upcoming weeks. I decided to do a post on my current favourite lip products I am loving so far, I am so obsessed with these products I am using these four for pretty much every make up look I do. The first three I am obsessed with is from the Fenty beauty line, I am loving the glosses and lipstick. I love the texture and how it feels I first bought the shimmering rose nude loved that and had to try the diamond milk one. I was first hesitant to buying it because I honestly thought it would be like all the other clear glosses but I decided to give it a try, it was more like a last minute quick pick up purchase. But to be honest I love it as much as the fenty glow one it is pretty much the same result I love how it just looks on me. One of the things I love about the fenty beauty line is that the beauty products she makes is for all skin tones and women everywhere, and that is one thing the beauty industry needs more for women. As a women of colour one of the hard things for me when it comes to buying products especially either foundation or lip shades is that its hard for me to find ones that match or go with me perfectly. This is a brand I would continually buy from, I haven’t tried wearing it over other lip shades I usually just wear it alone.

The next product shown that I love is the Blackup gloss, I got this on sale but sadly I found out that it is not for sale on the Sephora site anymore and I am not sure if it would be back. So backup is a brand dedicated to women of colour and it was developed by women of colour and it caters to women of darker skin tones. This is one of the reasons why I fell in love with this product it does what the brand says, this gloss looks so good on me it blends in so well with my skin tone. The gloss is kind of like a clear gloss with a nude undertone it carries different under tone colours, so you can get a rose tone or a more brown tone and etc that is the best way I can explain since I cant bring it up on sephora. The gloss doesn’t come off to sticky the only issue is that when used it sometimes comes out separated from the colour so sometimes clear gloss comes out first then it coming out together.

So those are so far all and current favourite lip products am using when doing my make up. I do not want to go further in more detail with these because i just currently did a Sephora review post on my blog and I did go through these products already. But I wanted to do a separate post on what am currently loving at the moment for winter, if you haven’t tried fenty yet I recommend you do I can not find one thing I dont like. And if you are a women of colour and find it hard like me finding shades that go with your skin tone there is your brand, even if you are not of colour you can also check out the brand they have other products pretty much any one of any shade can still use. That is it for today’s post like & comment i love hearing from you all my next post will be up Wednesday at 3pm Toronto time lol, I am so happy I am finally on a posting schedule!

Good morning everyone, and welcome back to another blog post, I hope everyone day is going great so far. I am back with another blog post I have got to lately get time to work on my blog posts, I feel like a weight has been lifted off to be honest. I always get a bit upset when am behind and set back on my posts because of course being a mommy comes first. One of my top resolutions was to try and put in more work into my blogging and so far that hasn’t been happening, but hopefully I still try and not give up. So for today blog post is a haul on a bunch of cute kid buys I got lately. Its a bit a lot because I’ve been behind on my buys, and of course most of pretty much all is from zara. Zara started having their sale from since around last week of December till now, I swear this has been the longest sale they ever had that I know of. These are the cute buys that was picked up, all of them was reasonable priced. I cant complain their usual price is pretty expensive somewhat for “kid clothes”, sometimes I have to slow down on my purchases because the total comes down to be ridiculous.

The two cartoon shirts in the middle I purchased for my daughter, I saw them in the zara boys area. I dont really pick up boy clothes for my daughter by sometimes zara boy section has some cute picks and if it looks unisex I buy it. All items I get for my daughter I buy in a age six years or seven, this is because sadly the downfall of zara clothes is the fabric it is made out of but if washed in I believe warm or hot water they tend to shrink. I went through this a lot for awhile because it took me awhile to catch on that it was the fabric the problem, and they need to be washed in cold. But I still wash them in warm and they dont shrink that much I believe what shrank it a lot was the dryer. But she still has alot of surviving clothes so am starting to get the hand of it of how to handle the clothes. The last picture is a pair of cute grey wide leg pants with an cute grey bodysuit, I paired these two together. Sadly she cant wear the grey pants yet due to this awful weather (we are in winter) and we just literally got snow. So some of these clothes are put on the back burner for now.

I absolutely love this pink biker jacket as soon as it was out I have been eyeing it for the longest time, as soon as I saw it was part of the sale I just had to purchase it for my daughter. Shes five years old but I purchased an age seven, zara goes by age not particularly by sizes. But that is all the purchases my daughter got I will be having more haul to come sorry if this was pretty quick, I do have one for myself to be posted soon. Remember to comment & like I love hearing from you all.
