Hey everyone, welcome back to another blog post! Happy Tuesday I hope everyone weekend went well? I sadly had to schedule Monday post for today because of mom life taking over on Sunday, that I honestly forgot to plan and schedule my post. Sunday was simply not my dad it was super busy, but I am happy I got it up now. For today’s blog post I wanted to do an review on the Fenty foundation. I wanted to give my honest opinion on the product since I’ve got to use it a couple times now.
Awhile back I purchased the Fenty Beauty pro filter soft matte long wear foundation, it’s known for a soft matte build-able coverage. Also comes in 50 shades, I have purchased the colour 410. I wanted to give this foundation a try due to me loving the Fenty glosses and the foundation seemed light, also this foundation was matte and am a sucker for matte foundations. I also saw how it was for combination skin types which I am so I decided why not? I purchased the colour in 410 because my skin number I got matched with matched me with that and I saw it somewhat matched my skin tone. Despite it chose that colour I feel like it’s not exactly my skin shade to get it to blend well I have to buff it out a couple times. I also found the shade really bright and comes off really yellow and to tell you the truth I hate foundations that come off with a strong yellow undertone, I find those are the ones that leave you with the “mask” look. The foundation felt light and I found it did give a matte finish, and little goes a long way. I overall ended up somewhat disliking but I feel it was more to Sephora recommending the wrong shade but I feel like it’s because it’s the closest shade to me. I usually use to highlight areas on my face, other then that it’s pretty much less used. I wouldn’t say the foundation is awful but I am currently not loving how this shade blends with me, if this is the only shade for me I don’t see myself using this foundation.
Thanks for reading my review, if you’ve have purchased this foundation what are your thoughts on it? Is it your fav? I love to hear your thoughts, next planned blog post will be up Wednesday at 9am EST!
Hey everyone, and welcome back to another blog post. Happy Monday! I hope everyone’s weekend went well? Last Wednesday I put out a blog post on how I organise my blog posts and I decided to now do an update post on all the apps i basically use for blogging and what I use them for. From since the last post I have used different and new apps that really help me a lot and this can maybe help you out so lets get right on into it!
So the first app we will be looking into is plann, this app is made to help plan and organise your Instagram postings before uploading them to your Instagram. This app is a huge life saver for me and I pretty much use it all the time, it helps me plan out and upload everything I want to it so I can plan out a whole week of Instagram uploads to post. This app also helps me keep my Instagram colour scheme I want and not post something that doesn’t go with my colours I have going already.
Next is canva, almost every blogger probably knows canva. This app is like one of the top must haves for a blogger, this app is for designing. I use this app for designing all my blog covers and Instagram story graphics etc. This app pretty much goes hand and hand with Pinterest because this is what everyone is using to make their blog pins.
Ok, so everyone has Pinterest ! I always had a Pinterest account way back and pin and bit here and there but never really focused on Pinterest and all what it does until now. I am fully in the Pinterest obsession now, I am now making use of Pinterest for my blog, I am still trying to get my Pinterest strategy and see what works for me but so far so good. I must say Pinterest is like the best yes for getting your blog noticed getting whole loads of traffic but a huge frustration if you ask me.
Most people use VSCO, I only mostly use this app to whiten my backgrounds in my photos for my Instagram. This app is really great for overall photo editing I would recommend it for blogging, but overall I use this app only for background whitening.
Preview is pretty much another Plann, it helps organise and help sort and plan out everything you would like to post before uploading your photo. I love using this app for photo editing, if you are looking for an app that can help with colour coordinating your Instagram and making a colour scheme I highly recommend this app. It also helps you with your stats for Instagram you would just have to connect your account.
Tailwind is an app that I just started using, I am still trying to understand it and figure out how this whole app works. But I love using this app to organise and plan and schedule my pinterest postings. I also connected my Instagram account but I dont find it helpful for Instagram just because I have another way of posting my Instagram. This app has help me gain loads of monthly viewers to my pinterest account over night just by planning and scheduling postings for over night. I am still trying to understand and build with tailwind tribes, and find a strategy that works best for me. If you do not have tailwind I would recommend getting it, it is a huge help for pinterest gaining huge amounts of traffic. Hopefully this post has helped with maybe adding something new to your blogging, I hope I somewhat explained how all these apps work. Sorry for todays late posting ( life has taken over) next post will be up Wednesday at 9am EST.
Hey everyone, and welcome back to another blog post. Happy Wednesday! I can’t believe it’s literally in the middle of the week already. This week for me so far has been overwhelming but I will make it. I haven’t been feeling well just yesterday I have been fighting to rest and literally forgot about today’s post, I literally came up with this post and stayed up past 10 trying to make this post so bare with me. For today’s post I wanted to share how I plan my blog posts, how I organise just the planning out process. I am happy I came up with a system especially with being a wife and having a five year old and a baby but this system works for me.
So first things first, I just want to make a disclaimer that my system doesn’t have to work for everyone but then again it can end up working for someone so it’s all on your schedule. So I schedule all Mondays and Wednesday only and I do not post on social media on Saturday or Sunday’s because I am always busy on the weekends. So literally how I organize everything is on those days only, so Saturday and Sunday I brainstorm and will go on WordPress in drafts and type out all the potential blog posts I’d want to do and just literally sit and type out as many as I can get out. If I am having writers blog what I do is go onto Pinterest type “blog ideas” and read through potential ideas I love and I might change it up a bit to suite my blog and I still sit there and type out as much ideas as possible. Ok so I got my ideas down next I delete all the posts I am not feeling and clear them, when I decide what I will post I use Saturday and Sundays to type out my Monday post. If I have time after I finish and schedule Monday post I will write my intro for Wednesday post this helps me a step further in planning.
As soon as it’s Monday and my post goes up I use Tuesday to write and prepare for my Wednesday post. And if am stuck which I shouldn’t be because I literally type out all my blog ideas so I barely get stuck. I choose which post id want to do and type that out, and schedule it for Wednesday morning. I find Tuesday is less time for me to prepare for a post but since I prepare a lot over the weekend it helps in some way. After Wednesday I am back to doing the same system over again ..
If you do this often around your blog schedule you would have enough posts possibly for the month and also never get stuck and have writers block. Also having your posts drafted already and half way typed out saves you huge amounts of time. Sometimes I have about 3 posts at a time intro already typed out or more and I could get about two posts already scheduled and up. The only thing to get in my way of my posting schedule is of life takes over and I don’t have time to do this process, and I end up having to miss a day of posting. But overall I literally do this over and over throughout the weeks, I just incorporated tailwind into my method I am still trying to get a hang of using it and figuring it out. But so far I am liking it, tailwind helps put aloe with my posting and hopefully it helps increase my blog traffic. It has helped so far with me just putting pins through out the day to my Pinterest but if you guys would like to know me check it out here.
I hope my method of blog posting has helped you all in some way or another or maybe my whole system is easy for you either way I hope I made your job easier. Thank you all for reading, remember to like & comment I always love hearing from you all! Next scheduled post will be up Monday at 9am EST time. Also forgot to mention this is my 100th blog post! yay!
Hey everyone, and welcome back to another blog post! Happy Monday I hope everyone weekend went well? Mine went great I feel like this weekend even the last week went by too quick. For today’s blog post I wanted to share what keeps me going and motivated when it comes to blogging.
I know as bloggers we all go through rough patches and moments of forgetting why we started blogging, or moments of frustration with a specific problem or maybe even life taking over and we slowly give up. Yup, I go through these every now and then. I have my moments of frustration to where I always ask myself “what am I doing wrong?” Or is my content good enough? To where I have had life take over and I had to totally put blogging on hold. That moment was really rough for me because when I had returned my blog was barely getting any traffic and I had to work extra hard and put out double the posts to let every know like “heyy am back!” . My biggest challenge so far as a blogger is getting huge amounts of traffic, like this drives me insane to where I always feel like giving up. Sometimes I can’t even be bothered to days I literally am up a day reading blogs on blogs of how to improve your traffic.
What I realized is there is no secret to what gets everyone going. It’s why we started blogging and the story behind it. I always remember the day I left me job and was home doing absolutely nothing, and I just decided to start little Black Dress out of no where. I always try and remember the days I struggled in school due to having a learning disability and it interfering with jobs and having people tell me I can’t. Little Black Dress came from a mom being able to be herself and express who Sarah is. I would say one of the biggest reasons I stay motivated is wanting to conquer my shyness, I hate public speaking and opening up and I feel like this is the only place I can do it. I don’t want me being “shy” take over and stop me from getting what I want in life and this is it this is the answer so far in achieving just that.
If we all just take a minute through those times and think to really why we started everything that’s the best motivation we can get. To even where the promotions, money and social media fame wouldn’t mean anything to us but the enjoyment of putting out posts. I am also so blessed to have a supportive husband who always supports my blogging, he is always there to help me and always even willing to proofread my work (always embarrassing for me). He gives me ideas and always asks me how it’s doing and willing to invest in anything I need. I honestly don’t know what I would do without him I feel like he is that extra push I need to keep going, it’s always good to have that support system that would be your cheerleader when you are down and stuck. Before blogging I honestly didn’t know it was going to be this hard but I don’t regret it one bit! Thanks everyone for reading! I hope this post help in someway or another, next post will be up Wednesday at 9am EST.
Hey everyone, welcome back to another blog post! Happy Wednesday I hope everyone’s week is going great so far? For today blog post I decided to do a post on ” how fashion influences our everyday life”. I thought for this to be a very interesting topic because if you look at it its a very broad topic, but yet a good one. Well for one thing fashion is all around us there is no escaping it, I heard a very good interesting quote one day “without fashion we’ll all be naked” and if you think about it its actually true. Even if we cared deeply about fashion from what we wear or the labels we are supporting to the people who could care less what they put one what we all have in common is we all chose the item. Lets look at it this way, the ones who could care less about what they can have one in some way or another some thought in their mind they looked at what they was putting on and expressed who they are through their clothes.
Fashion influences from the moment we chose what to wear, what we look at to buy and to when trying to express ourselves through our outfits. Whatever we put on we all are saying this is who i am, were giving some clue to the world. Fashion is all around us everyday, and everyday we simply get influenced by it without even knowing. Everything simply has to do with persona preferences, from designers to what we see on the run way. To also what we buy and what we chose to wear all has to do with personal preferences. But dont we ever all wonder where fashion first started? Fashion all started in the 19th century, with Charles Fredrick worth he was the first designer to get his name sewn into garments. And before the mid 19th century haute couture and the ready to wear didn’t exist. Major pieces for females was “made to measure” or made by seamstresses, and most of the clothing was made for women for their figure and was more a one on one with their dressmakers. Its crazy to how far fashion has came since then, how its reached a height where we all can express ourselves through what we wear and how designers can simply now get inspiration from anywhere.
Fashion plays a big part in society, its all plays a part in social, cultural and economic changes that happen everyday. It plays a big impact on times, this is what defines generations this is what separates period of time in history.
Coco Chanel said ” “Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.”
Fashion often represents our self, whether we love fashion or not what we choose everyday becomes a part of us. We literally can go about our day to day tasks and see a lot of people through out the day and see what their wearing and get a hint of who they are through what their wearing. Fashion is an art, where we all express our self through fabric, almost like a moving painting. If I had to chose a few places to see fashion expression id have to choose New York and Paris, I would love to just look at all the fashion expression there and honestly not get bored. What I love about fashion is it never ends their always going to be more self expression always new collection and always someone wearing something. Always going to be some type of trend going on and one dying out.
One big thing is is a big influence on fashion is social media, this is the biggest influence when it comes to seeing the latest clothing item or even whats in and whats not. We dont even need to look it up because its all over social media, and also all over society you can just tell whats in because everyone starts wearing it. Fashion is such an important thing we all underestimate it, and not realise how much of an influence it has on society and culture. How do you all perceive fashion? Here are some interesting quotes I always loved on fashion, hope you all enjoyed today’s blog post next blog will be posted Monday at 9am EST time!
“Don’t be into trends. Don’t make fashion own you, but you decide what you are, what you want to express by the way you dress and the way to live.” – Gianni Versace
“What you wear is how you present yourself to the world, especially today, when human contacts are so quick. Fashion is instant language.” – Miuccia Prada
“Fashion is about dressing according to what’s fashionable. Style is more about being yourself.” – Oscar de la Renta
“I think there is beauty in everything. What ‘normal’ people perceive as ugly, I can usually see something of beauty in it.” – Alexander McQueen
“You can have anything you want in life if you dress for it.” —Edith Head
