3 Blogging Mistakes

Hey everyone, welcome back to another blog post. For today’s blog post I thought I wanted to talk about my three major blogging mistakes I’ve made. I’ve made a past blog post on things I wish I knew before blogging so I thought this would be a great next post. If you haven’t yet got to read that post you can find that HERE. Now the three things I’ll be listing are things I didn’t know about or understood when starting a blog. I just want to state these may be different towards you or other bloggers. Everyone creates their own mistakes and it’s just part of the journey of blogging. We all have to create mistakes to get better and improve. I am still making mistakes even now.

1. Proofreading

Yes, proofreading. I know you all or some are maybe like “how?” Everyone knows after writing you proofread your work. Well I hate proofreading and correcting and all that Jazz to be honest. And I honestly was never good at English in school and I suck at writing sometimes. I’ve always struggled with this at school and even as a soon to be 27 year old. That is what somewhat held me back from starting a blog in some ways but I decided to overcome that feeling and go for it. Thanks to my wonderful husband also when he is available he will go over my post for me and correct anything that needs to be corrected. But even tho I suck at it I realized as a blogger I need to make sure things are corrected regardless if I hate it. This will affect views and follows and I got to stay professional with my work.

2. SEO

Search engine optimization, this is something I totally didn’t know or understood about when I just started blogging. I would see a lot of bloggers talking about this and a lot of blog posts on this. Of course I did my research and read as much as I could about this and slowly started to grasp what search engine optimization was. Now with the help of plug-ins I make search all or least most of my blogs are SEO. Now whenever I don’t get blog posts up or it’s not a day i post I still get good amounts of searches on google. I am still always trying to make sure to improve my SEO writing.

3. Word Count

My third and last blogging mistake is word count. At the beginning of my blogging even still sometimes now I noice when I make some blog posts some are pretty short. I don’t know if I only do this but at the end I hate it. One of the things I wanted to try and do differently was make longer blog posts. For one it can increase more of my traffic and following and actually make people want to read my content. I didn’t want to be known for the blogger who make short postings. So I have made a change and increase my word count on my content and I have noticed a difference throughout the months. What I have done to help me was I would chose topics I can really elaborate on. It was the best way to change the way I write and it has worked so far.

Thanks for reading, I hope any of mistakes can help any of you that may be starting a blog or want to even start one. Remember we are all learning and it’s okay to make mistakes here and there throughout our blogging journey. Please remember to like, comment and follow if you haven’t yet! I always love to hear from you all. Comment any blog mistakes you may of had or found bit of a struggle? May even help me lol See you all in my next post !

Kids Thrift Haul

Hey everyone, and welcome back to another blog post. Happy Thursday I hope everyone week is going well, for today’s blog post i wanted to share my kids thrift haul in review of some recent purchases I did and how the whole trip went. So funny story my at the time three month old needed a new swing and my mom decided me and my husband to go to ” Once upon a child” a thrift store in Toronto for kids and babies and sell our old one and buy a new used one from there.

I was so hesitant on this because to be honest I am not much of a thrifting person, I never have for me or my oldest most of her clothing comes from zara. So me and my husband get there and I start looking around and omg guys I start getting carried away and picking up items. I have so far made about two trips so far or three and I have bought so much items that came up to about $70.00 CAD, that is about the same amount for three items i buy at zara.

I swear it has became an obsession for me because now whenever I get money that’s all I think about thrifting. I am happy for the least I gave something a try and stepped out my comfort zone, now don’t get me wrong there is nothing wrong with thrift stores but that was the first time I ever really been in one. For my overall experience it was great, the clothing most is new and the ones used is actually not to bad looking you cant really tell for the most that they are used. The service I had was okay I received great service the only thing I think that part of their service that is not so good is how much they give you in selling. It seems what you give to sell they dont pay you as much as what the item may cost, I have picked up some designer clothes from there and they didn’t cost much seriously i paid for some for about $5.00 CAD.

I know it is a thrift store and the whole idea is buying a lot for less but if I paid for an item for a lot I would want at least a decent amount of money back. Another down side was that they sell a lot of cute clothes from newborn till about 3 years and I noticed for my oldest daughter which she is about 5 going on 6 they didn’t have good clothes to me for her age. Pretty much what id buy there for her is about dresses and pj’s. The items I did get were some dresses for my oldest because it was all I can find that i liked, and for my four month old I got some cute shorts for her and some cute outfits I got to find a good decent amount of clothes. My most favourite items from both of them if I had to chose would be one of the dress from my oldest and this cute jeans jacket I found for my youngest. Overall I would say I am now a 100% thrift shopper, I know for sure ill be spending a lot of time there. Thanks for reading, because of a busy day yesterday I did not get to post yesterday I hate when I have to switch up the schedule due to a busy week but I am happy I at least got to get it up today. Monday usual post will be up at 9am EST time for sure, have a great rest of your Thursday!

The best beauty advice I’ve ever received/given

Hello everyone and welcome back to another blog post ! Happy Monday I hope you’re Monday morning is going well so far. Mine of course and full of sleep deprivation as always but got to keep the blogs going, I am doing so well keeping up this schedule. I knew the more I keep up my blogging the sooner or later I’d find a posting schedule.

For today’s blog post is beauty related, let’s talk about the best beauty advice I’d received or even given. To be honest I somewhat remember some advice but this is a broad subject but I’d do my best. This is all the advice I have been given…

  1. Keep a clean face before applying make up! Wash you faceThis removes all dirt and pollution from your face so you can have a fresh face before applying make up. And it also helps your make up apply better !
  2. Match your foundation from your neck not your hand This is such an great advice I received in college in my make up program, your neck is actually the closet tone to your face NOT your hand.
  3. Don’t leave your make up brushes in the bathroomI mean how many of us wash our brushes and lay it down and sometimes don’t think to actually put it somewhere to dry? I know I’ve done it. Your going to want to lay your brushes near a window or dry clean area, when leaving it in the bathroom your brushes is actually picking up a lot of bathroom particles in the air and then this get applied to your face !
  4. Keep your makeup brushes clean frequentlyThis one is a hard one for me but yes the best thing to to constantly keep up with keeping your brushes clean. A clean brushes equals a clean pimple free face.
  5. Not everyone needs to contour their nose ! And contour the sides NOT the tip of the nose ! I know this one is going to be a hard one for a lot but yeah not all nose shapes need to be contoured, this is one of the best tips I’ve received in college. We all have different shapes so why do they all need to be contoured the same?

Now for the makeup advice I have given or most likely would have given to someone …

  1. Take care of you skin first then makeup Taking care of your face first helps achieve the best make up application and also helps keep your skin healthy.
  2. Apply mascara to your lashes not your falseThis is a trick I actually came up with (in lash post), applying mascara first helps your false blend in well with your natural lash and also maximises your false lash life span.
  3. Applying caster oil or Vaseline at night to lashes or brows help them growYup, its true ! These two products help moisturise your lashes and brows and when applied often your lashes and brows grow quit a bit.
  4. Brushing your brows often stimulates your brows to growThis practice helps stimulate the root and when done often this allows growth, am one to say it has worked for me.
  5. Have a separate towel for your face to dont use your “body” towelThis I actually never thought of, but if using the same towel for everywhere on your body and then used to wipe your face this can actually cause acne and pimples etc.

I hope some of these advice was helpful in some way, I am so sorry on late posting. I have been so busy this morning, I do now have a consistent posting schedule which are Mondays and Wednesdays. I will always post these days unless I got an extra blog post but I would let you know. Thanks for reading I hope you all have a great Monday !

Acne Scaring – How to diminish it!

Good afternoon everyone! and welcome back to another blog post. Happy Wednesday I hope everyone is having a great day so far? Here we are half way through the week already. For today blog post we will be digging into skincare and talking about a big issue for a lot of people, I’ve noticed working in the skin industry which is acne. For this post we will be looking into skin and at different segments to understand how skin works and the steps needed to diminish acne scaring.

So first things first the questions we always ask ourselves “how does acne scaring start?” and “why does it almost always leave a scar?” well now to answer these questions. There is different types of scaring their not all the same but acne scars most occur when acne occur and it is irritated before time. From picking to popping when it is not ready or it is inflamed or even when touching your face all the bacteria from you fingers get onto your skin this can lead to scaring, the best thing to do is to leave it alone and find the best products to assist your skin.

So the question now “how do I diminish my scars”, well to be honest with you all this is not going to just go over night. I can be honest again and tell you if you start with this and keep doing it you will see results, I am one to say it works I did have a few scars and now my face is pretty clear. We all know we always have dead skin cells on our skin and new skin cells are produced, and to get the cycle going and make sure we are on top of removing old skin cells the key to that is to always exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate! This process removes the dead skin off your body and allows new skin cells to come, this is so important because the more you exfoliate the more overtime your pigmentation on your face will slowly but surely go. Make sure you know your skin type also this would help you determine in what exfoliate to get and also how many times a week to exfoliate and help you start a skin regimen. Keeping up this process will start shedding away those scars and your face will start glowing, and trust me your skin will thank you.

The next thing you want to keep up is your products, its not recommended to exfoliate and not apply product afterwords or even sunscreen/sunblock. When exfoliated your skin is exposed to the sun and pollution. Other ways of removing acne scars a bit of a faster way and skipping some steps for the process is more costly but someone who tried it I would recommend. The first one is having micro-dermabrasion done, this is a technique which someone is working with crystals. The top of the skin is peeled, this is a type of exfoliation on the skin which allows the skin to renew process (this treatment does not hurt lol) . I have had this treatment done more than once and given this treatment more than once I highly recommend this one. The next treatment which is great is chemical peels this is a treatment used to improve the appearance of your face, neck and even hands. So a mixture of a chemical fluid is applied to your face and this exfoliates the skin and causes the skin to soon peel off, and the new skin then comes through and is much more smoother. The next is laser skin resurfacing, its a skin resurfacing treatment that uses a laser to improve the appearance of the skin. This treatment treats minor facial flaws, by removing thin layers of the skin.

There is more medical treatments that’s can help improve the appearance of the skin, but of course I cannot go on and on. But for advice id recommend buying your favourite exfoliate and exfoliating as much as needed and following up with products and serums. That is it for Wednesday post there will be a new post up Monday, remember to comment & like even post questions I love always hearing from you all! I hope you have a great rest of your Wednesday.
