3 Major things I wish I knew before starting a blog

Hey everyone, welcome back. First things first I was suppose to have a blog up Monday morning. But due to me throwing my youngest daughter her first birthday Sunday night I literally got thrown off schedule. I was so busy Sunday night I didn’t even get to start half of my post. I was deciding if I should put up Monday post for Tuesday and keep Wednesday post the same. But that would be too close of a catch up for me so I am now posting Monday’s post today Wednesday. For today’s post I wanted to talk about the three major things I wish I knew before starting a blog. Now this is going to be my raw thoughts based on my experiences.

1. Time

Initially I started blogging when I only had my oldest. At the time I started she was about four years old started school. I decided to quit my job and was fed up in my field of work and that’s when I decided to start my dream and start a blog. Now since in the days I had a lot of time of my hands I had time to meet my deadlines and post whenever I planned on posting. Now obviously things and life has changed but before starting a blog I never knew the amount of time in and time loss I’d have. Now that I am a mom of two I have loss time on post schedules and sacrifice uploads for sleep. I never knew the difficulties of blogging while being a mom and wife.

2. Traffic

Another major difficulty’s many bloggers have is gaining traffic. Being a blogger I have realized time and traffic go hand in hand. If you want more traffic and interaction you always need to put time in. This has been the hardest for me especially when I don’t get to make out time a specific day because that week or day can just be busy for me. Usually kids never really want to go by your schedule you just have to go with their schedule. Sometimes this makes me feel like am not getting anywhere with my blog especially if I see my traffic go down a bit. I always try and remember to try and motivate myself to keep going and remember why I started my blog. Another tip I use is to try and find the day and time I can fit in my blogging and social media time into my schedule even if it is for an hour. Sometimes I even include my mommy time, for example taking pictures of my toddlers outfits and using them for my Instagram post.

3. Interaction

In conclusion, the last and not least is interaction. I never knew how hard it is to get and gain social interaction on social media with other fellow bloggers. I find this the most frustrating thing ever being a blogger. I know it involves vice versa but i find it really irritating. It’s even harder for me being a mommy blogger since I can’t be on so much and I go M.I.A for a few days so I don’t get to interact online. Whenever I do I swear I get 0-2 responses back, I mean if I get 1-2 that’s a start but it’s really hard. The hardest platform is instagram and I know it’s not just me as a blogger but for a lot of other bloggers too. I decided to put in more motives when being more social online. I do admit that I am an introvert so I can be a little more outgoing and open online. I realized doing this can help grow my platform grow more and also for Instagram. It can also show my follows who I am more and it’s one way people will interact more with you as a blogger. Furthermore it’s the best way to overcome our challenges as bloggers to to change and find solutions that can work for us to fix these challenges we have.

Mommy Morning Routine

Hey everyone, and welcome back to another blog post! Happy Wednesday I can’t believe it’s fall already. This is one of my favorite seasons. I feel so inspired since fall as arrived, I have decided to make November more lifestyle post. I want to this month do more posts on my life. So for today’s post I am going to talk about my mommy daily routine. Now since my youngest is a baby soon to be one, my morning routines sometimes ends up different. You know with babies it’s more you following their lead then them listening to you.

7:15Am

The first thing to my morning routine is I wake up at 7:15Am. This is to get my oldest daughter up to brush her teeth and get ready for school. I try to get up as soon as my alarm goes off but to be honest sometimes I can’t and I lay there till 7:30am. So while my daughter is brushing her teeth I go in her room and try to get an outfit ready for her. Sometimes during this time my youngest is still sleeping and sometimes she’s up already. If she is up I will leave her in her crib and turn on her favourite show. And when she is still asleep I usually just leave Alexa running and close the door.

Breakfast

Next after my daughter finishes brushing and I have her ready we head down stairs for breakfast. So if the baby is awake I will head down ahead of time and have her in her high chair and give her something to munch on. I will then get my oldest something for breakfast while I make her lunch at the same time. A super mom moment lol. I am usually doing this till 8:00Am or till 8:15Am it all depends. I usually then put on the baby favourite show down stairs also while she eats it helps distract her while I am making lunch and breakfast. After I am done all that I leave them to run and brush my teeth, fix my hair. I then after get ready and make sure I have everything by the door. By then the time is 8:30Am and we always try to leave on time. I then try and get the kids by the door dressed and ready to leave. My daughter school starts at 8:45Am and it literally takes us 15 minutes to walk. And that is usually our routine every morning literally my weekday.

Downtime

Downtime, as soon as I get back from dropping my oldest off. Now this is my favourite time in the day. I don’t know if it’s cause am still tired but I love as soon as I get back and I get a little bit of relaxation in. After I get back me and my youngest head up stairs and back in bed lol. I then either let her watch a little bit more of her show depends on her mood or I put on mine. And then we both relax, I usually relax till 11:00am …yup 9 till 11:00am. And this is because between those times my youngest goes back to sleep so I wait it out. Then usually throughout the day am either cleaning, let her get her exercise in. I also plan out what am doing for my blog and manage my social media pages. This goes on until 3:00pm, by that time it’s time for me to head back to get my oldest. And that is pretty much my morning routine from Monday to a Friday.

My Self Care Routine

Hey everyone, and welcome back to another blog post. Wednesday already and half way through the week. For today’s blog post I wanted to share my usual self care routine. Now since am a mom I dont get much time for myself to be honest so whenever I do get a chance I do these usual routines. Its important to get some time out of the day or week to have a little self care time I believe its healthy for us. And its extremely important of course for us mom because it helps us not lose ourselves in motherhood. Now the best brand for your care needs would be Farm House Fresh. They have the best products go check them out now!

Self Care

Shower Time

Now I know a shower is just a shower, but I love when I get time out. This is one of my best care times because I love doing a good body scrub. Right now I am currently using a caramel body scrub and I absolutely love it. Almost every time I get my time out to go shower I am using this. Another great tip I use that I actually found on Pinterest is a great shaving tip. If you are a shaver like me a great tip is to use Johnsons baby oil prior to shaving. In the shower and then your going to want to shave. This prevents ingrown hairs and helps get a better shave then shaving dry. This also helps hydrate your skin when you come out your legs will be so soft I promise yall!

Work Out

Working out is another great idea, I am going to be completely honest I hate to work out. After having two kids my tummy has not been looking to great. And I gave in to least try and change that. One of my revolutions was to least try and work out this year so I have been trying to. I have not been doing it on a regular but I try to whenever I have the energy. Its not as fast results but I am proud because we all have to start somewhere right.

Nails & Make up

Now another great thing we can do for ourselves is least get our nails done or get pretty for no reason. One thing I do whenever my husband is home is go and get my nails done! I love just having time out for me and have time to relax. And to be honest it feels pretty good I dont even care how much I spend on them. I do though always do my own toes at home. I dont trust nail salon tubs I just have heard to many horror stories in college since am a esthetican. However if I am not doing that another great thing that makes me feel good is make up. Sometimes we just need to put on some makeup, even if we not going out sometimes we need to do something for oursleves. I use to prior to baby number two always have time for this and now I rarely touch my box. I usually not even in the mood to put it out when I go out because I dont have the time. But I honestly want to get back into finding time, hopefully soon I can.

Breakfast

So I am not much a healthy eater but I always try to have breakfast in the mornings. My usual routine after dropping my oldest off at school is laying down with little one for awhile. Then when she goes down for her nap by 11:00 AM I am then usually hungry and go quickly make something. My usual : Eggs, Oatmeal, Toast, Banana, Waffles, Bagels with a cup of coffee.

Self Care

Down Time

Last but not least having some down time. As a mom I always make sure to get a break into the days and especially after the kids go to sleep. Throughout the day my down time usually consist of Netflex and some good online shopping or browsing. This helps me reflect relax a bit and rest my body. Even if your not a mother we humans are always on the go. Its always good to get a break in and relax a bit and gain some energy. If I honestly didn’t take any down time for myself I couldn’t have typed this post lol. By 6pm I usually dont have energy in me and cannot wait till 7pm – 8pm bedtime to finally get the whole night to myself. I am sometimes to exhausted and just need that whole time and night to regain my energy.

That is all for my self care routine, I hope you all found some of my tips useful. I am surprised I found energy to type this out tonight. But remember to squeeze in a little care through out your day we all need to be pampered. I feel like all of this is what least helps me and keeps me going. Glow Recipe Watermelon Sleeping Mask

Hey everyone, welcome back to another blog post! I hope everyone is having a great week so far. I can’t believe it’s Thursday already we’re pretty much more half way through the week. It’s crazy starting next week Tuesday it’s back to school over here. There was supposed to be a blog post posted yesterday but because of the craziness I decided to try and get one out today. For today’s blog post I am going to be doing my full thought on the glow recipe sleeping mask.

The glow recipe sleeping mask is a radiance boosting and skin smoothing mask. This mask has watermelon and hyaluronic acid also AHA’s that gently exfoliate the skin while you sleep! Anyone can pretty much use this mask it is for dry, normal, combination and oily skin types. This mask helps with your pores, dryness and your daily oil concerns. The main ingredients in this mask are of course watermelon, which helps with skin inflammation and it also helps hydrate the skin while you sleep. Also as stated hyaluronic acid this also helps hydrate the skin and the AHA’s in the product helps exfoliate, brighten and remove dead skin cells from the skin. One of the top reasons why I am loving this product is because it states it is a pillow proofing product. The mask is also vegan and cruelty free!

I used this product a couple times, I wanted to get the full on feel of the product before I decided how I like the product. First off I love the texture of the sleeping mask. I do not love how it feels at first when applying, I love the feel after words when worked in. I feel like its feels a bit sticky when at touch and applying. I love how I dont need a huge amount of product when applying the mask. I made sure to read the application steps online before using the product. And you honestly only need a small amount, a little goes a long way.

How to use: For a sleeping mask your going to want to use a generous layer. If you are a dry skin type simply apply a dime size amount onto the skin. When applying the product you would pat the product then rubbing the product in. The product does have different instructions if you want to use it as a wash off mask instead. But it is ideal if you have stressed skin or sensitive (inflamed). Instead you would just apply a thick amount of the product. Let the product sit for about 10 minutes then you would rinse off with lukewarm water.

In overall I would most likely use this mask for part of my night time routine. I love the packaging for glow recipe and their general color for the brand. I am planning on purchasing more of their products. The watermelon glow ultra fine mist, avocado melt retinal sleeping mask and pineapple C brighting serum I really want to try. 10 Things I wish I knew

Hello everyone, and welcome back to another post. For today’s blog post I wanted to talk about the 10 things I wish I knew before I started blogging plus blog tips. I have been blogging about little over a year now and I am still up to this day learning about new things. And to be honest with you it is so confusing to me but I try and find my way around. I always tend to think about it as a world I am still trying to learn and figure out. Everyday I am always constantly reading articles and blog tips to educate myself and teach myself what I need to know.

Before blogging I honestly thought of it as you make a site and just write posts. I never knew there was so much more that goes on behind it. Like writing, promoting, marketing your brand and constantly trying to engage with other people. Who knew that you always got to constantly make sure your readers are engaged with your content and always trying to make sure your blog is generating traffic. But although I think about all of this I remember even the most top bloggers out there started just like me. Looking back at my very first posts and photography I have came a very long way and I couldn’t be more proud of myself.

I wish I knew about the amount of time blogging involves, like I said honestly thought you just write a post and that is it. But I have learned its more then that and it all is just organising time. I have also learned that creating a great blog and having the right tools sometimes involves money. I am still investing and learning everything I need to create great content and site. And who know about the amount of time we need to market and always promote ourselves? because I didn’t lol. If had to chose my hardest struggle at the moment it would be constantly generating traffic to my blog. Also as bloggers we sometimes need breaks, I always take a break when its much needed but I always try to get back to blogging as soon as possible.

This helps your readers reading your content and not wonder where you went. Blogging sometimes can become a huge stress, but I always trying to continue to find devotion in what I do. And motivate myself to work everyday this i believe goes hand and hand with balancing. You always want to make sure you have a balanced life and time when you have self care and distress. One thing I always remember when it comes to my blog is always remembering to be and stay unique. There is hundreds of influencers and bloggers out there and the only thing that gets your readers is your uniqueness. No one wants to follow or read someone that is copying someone else or trying to follow someone else.

My last and most final thing I wish someone told me is that you’d always have to remember why you started. We get stressed out and frustrated and that is normal, and all we have to do is remember why we all started. And these are the 10 things I wish i knew, and the best blog tips I can share!
